Rating ALL of the outfits I wore to Cheltenham races in 2025! SPOILER ALERT – I attended EVERY SINGLE day of each meet held at the racecourse!
Hello my Darlings, and welcome back to another blog!
This blog is always such a popular one. I have a membership for Cheltenham Racecourse, so for many years I have attended every race meet. 2025 was no exception. There are a total of 8 race meets, and 16 days of racing held at the racecourse, that’s 16 outfits to review!
I rarely plan any of my outfits in full for the races. National Hunt racing weather is so changeable, that often I just pick one piece I want to wear in advance, and then build the rest of the outfit the morning of. That way I can try and keep in tune with the weather for the day!
With that in mind, even as a country fashion blogger, I get it wrong.
Today we look into the good, and the really not so good, outfit choices from every meet in 2025.
I’ve been quite harsh in this! Hope you enjoy!
Let’s get into it!
New Years Day
The first race meet of the new year, and it’s always a popular one. The turnout for this day is usually high, attracting racing fanatics and first timers alike! It’s a one day meet, and it is usually a cold one!
Starting off the year, it had to be a Welligogs jacket, the holy grail of my race day looks! I went for a neutral mix of creams and browns, and then added the rust orange fedora for a pop of colour. I like how this look turned out, it was warm for a really cold days racing, and definitely ticked the boxes of my classic racing looks.

Festival Trials Day
The second race meet held, and again in January. Another one day meeting, and it is a chance to see the real potential ahead of the Cheltenham Festival.
I love a navy outfit. With my skin tone, it’s so much softer than black, but still has a classic, effortless look. This is an older Joules jacket, but still one I love reaching for, it’s got some really lovely detailing. The hat wasn’t designed to go with it, but it matches perfectly, and I love pairing the two together.

Cheltenham Festival
This is the big one! Cheltenham Festival is held in March, and consists of four days of top, world class racing. This attracts huge crowds for the sellout event. The meet starts on a Tuesday with Champions Day, we then had Ladies Day on Wednesday, St Patricks Day on Thursday, and then the spectacular Gold Cup Day is on the Friday. It is one of the biggest events on the racing calendar.
Day one, and looking back I’m just really not a fan of this outfit. I knew I wanted to wear the boots and the fascinator, but I am just not a massive fan of the final look. Each individual element of the outfit I liked, but combined there was just something not quite right.

For this festival, I wanted to keep trying to break the mould and not wear a lot of the pieces or brands I was constantly seeing around the racecourse. I definitely achieved that! This look definitely went for something different and I love the pop of orange and the cream. Whilst I had a vision with the look, this outfit wasn’t very ‘me’ in the end, and it isn’t one of my most loved looks from the year. I still like the idea behind it, and each of the pieces are real staples in my wardrobe, just maybe not together at the races.

Now we’re taking!!! There she is! Rich chocolate browns, a huge fascinator, Fairfax & Favor boots – your girl is back. Oh my goodness I just loved this look! The Moss Green colourway from Fairfax & Favor was one of my favourite releases, paired with this Welligogs jacket which stole my heart since I got it. Loved this look!

This is another outfit that I loved. Plum is another flawless colourway from Fairfax & Favor. As a pink girlie, plum is just a bit more mature for your looks, whilst still bringing the same vibe. The coat is everything, warm, classic and a head turner. This is a proper festival look!

The April Meeting
The April meeting is two days of racing, and usually a chance to ditch the big thick layers, and lean into Spring racing outfits.
Day one of the April meet was SO windy. My fedora was blowing off, scarf whipping in my face, cape blowing everywhere. I like the look overall, but it was such a windy day, it was a constant battle. I’ve had this Holland Cooper cape for many many years and it’s a real workhorse in my wardrobe that I really treasure. I love the colour palette too.

Day two and we had some nicer weather! I was desperate to wear this longline gilet as it was a new release from Fairfax & Favor at the time. I love it, it’s something really different, but classic and timeless. It really suited the racecourse vibes. I think this outfit came together well! I love how there’s a classic colour palette, mixed with the softer pink hues.

May Race Night
It’s the party night of the race season, and this is the event which brings the National Hunt race season to a close at Cheltenham. This meet starts later into the afternoon, and runs into the evening, usually with live music and a DJ post racing!
This is usually the warmest race meet at Cheltenham. So an opportunity to wear something a little different! I’d been loving this little white dress and it was just an easy base to start from. I used tan and navy to accessorise, no real complaints with this look, it worked well!

The Showcase
The Showcase is when the National Hunt Season kicks off again in Cheltenham, held in October. This is the meet when we finally get back to the course after four long months off!
Day one of the October meeting and kick starting the new season of jump racing. I knew I wanted to wear this new Welligogs jacket, and because it has some subtle navy detailing, I opted for a navy look, with the jacket as the standout piece. I like this look, really classic, came together well and looks timeless.

The second day of the October meet, and I’m back with another one of my classic race day looks. Fairfax & Favor had launched the Fog colourway so I wanted to style those boots and bag. I think it worked really well with the colouring of the Welligogs jacket. I like this look and how it came together!

The November Meeting
The November meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse is another big one. This is a three day event and it brings out quite the crowd.
The first day of the November meeting was CRAZY! We had such a bad storm, it was awful wind and rain- it really wasn’t pleasant. Whilst I am usually a girlie who promotes wearing something sensible, I went completely against that and continued to wear a velvet jacket, fascinator, skirt and suede boots. You know what, it doesn’t matter! This was one of my favourite outfits, I LOVED it!

Second day, and I opted for this gorgeous Highlands tweed jacket from Joules. This was another look that I just really really liked! This is such a stunning jacket, and it worked really well with the green accessories and the navy. I initially gave this look a four, then had to come back and switch it out to a five, I would 100% wear this again!

Final day, and tbh, I was feeling very worse for wear at this point. My original outfit hadn’t arrived, so all I really knew was that I wanted to wear the fascinator, the rest of the outfit was thrown together in the morning. It was rushed and had very little thought behind it. I do like this outfit, I think it’s more I knew how I was feeling underneath!

The Christmas Meeting
The final meet of the year, known as the Christmas meet. This December meeting is held over two days, and whilst it is often a chilly one, it has a really lovely atmosphere.
On day one of the meeting, I put together a full Holland Cooper look, and I really love how this turned out. Chocolate is such a poplar colour for the winter season, and it’s got the same kind of style presence as black, without being quite as harsh. The Holland Cooper cape was the centre piece of this outfit, elegant and chic but really practical for layering underneath!

Day two of the Christmas meeting, and the outfit felt like a festive one. I just love how this look came together. I had bought the hat from a stand at the races the day before, it’s vintage and was the perfect seasonal addition. Whilst I’ve worn the Welligogs jacket before, I opted for wearing it done up, changing the look. I used the rule of three with the hat, bag and boots to add a fresh pop of tan into the outfit. I adore how this look came together.
