Winter race day style. Inspiration from three days at the epic Cheltenham November Meeting šŸŽ

Hello my darlings, and welcome back to another blog.
I can’t believe we are coming to the end of November, and another year of blogs. I’ll admit, I haven’t been the best at posting, and there’s been a lot going on. That’s probably for another blog though!

This blog is focusing on my outfits and styling for the Cheltenham November Meet, in the hope this helps and inspires you with your own Winter race day outfits.

You know me, race day styling is my favourite.

So grab a drink, and let’s reflect on three Winter race day styles.

Day One

Two words – Storm Claudia!

Oh my goodness me. When I say storm, I mean STORM! It was debatable whether racing was even going to go ahead, but luckily, we got the all clear, and had to prepare for the wild weather ahead.

There are some race meets where I prefer a fedora over a fascinator, and vice versa. I love wearing headpieces when I can, and the November meeting offers the perfect opportunity for this. My gorgeous friend owns Josephines Country Collections, and she was on hand with a super sturdy piece that would endure the weather, given I was adamant to wear something a little more impressive.

I always decide my outfits on the day, and whilst I wish I could say that’s to be practical – it seems anything but given my choice of outfit for this day!

A velvet coat, suede boots, and a headpiece – I was certainly playing with fire…. but…. the November meeting only rolls around once, and you know what – I loved my outfit and we had a fabulous day!

Day Two

Guinness village is go!

Given the amount of rain that had fallen the day before, there was again speculation as to whether racing would be able to go ahead. However, it did! And we go again with another look.

This time, I styled up a wonderful tweed check jacket from Joules, with a stunning green headpiece and accessories to match.

Winter racing is very different to the likes of Royal Ascot. You need thermals, layers and as much practicality as possible. I will often wear jeans – I just opt for plain navy, black or stone colours so that these remain smart whilst practical.

This day was no exception. Despite opting for a tailored jacket, I layered up with thermals and jumpers underneath to trap air and maintain warmth. I also opted for trousers and boots.

Day Three

Hanging on in there!

The final day is always a struggle, and I literally threw this outfit together in minutes. Sometimes you just need to reach for something comfortable, and that as long as the colours match, you’re off.

Once again, I have a stunning creation on from Josephines Country Collections. This gorgeous piece was a one off creation and it looked so impressive against the Tawny tweed of the Holland Cooper cape. I again opted for jeans and boots – for ease and practicality.

So there we have it, three outfits to inspire your own Winter race day styles.

My next blog is the ultimate Christmas gift guide, so you really won’t want to miss that one!

Lots of love, Lucinda xo
