Barker & Sloane Intensive Hand & Nail Cream
What do I love about this brand?
I have praised this brand several times before, so you will already be familiar with the name if you are a regular to my blog or social media channels. I first met Claire at The Game Fair last year, and I have such huge respect and admiration for the journey of Barker and Sloane, and where it is today. Claire is such an inspiration, with her ‘no nonsense’ approach to skincare, creating products suitable for all of the elements – something us country girls know all too well!
I have been using the Barker and Sloane moisturisers and 12 Bore Boost spray for the past year, and I genuinely love it. If you’d like to read up on these, you can find my research and review on this skincare in this blog. I have very openly admitted in the past that I have had no real clue about skincare and it’s importance before meeting Claire. Claire’s enthusiasm for her products is infectious and I finally found products relevant to my lifestyle. In turn, I was then actually excited to research skincare products, and what I routine I should be following!! I had blamed my bad skincare routine on being a ‘horsey girl’ for too long, and I am so grateful I found products which finally sparked some interest in me actually looking after my skin (which is now getting older and definitely needs some tlc)!
What do I love about this product?
This is a brand new product launch, that has only just recently been released. Claire has formulated a hand and nail cream, and it couldn’t have arrived at a better time.
The handcream is beautifully presented as always, Claire goes above and beyond when sending out her products. They always arrive beautifully wrapped, feeling luxurious and special.
The first thing you notice is the smell, and it 100% smells good enough to eat (not advised!). The hand cream doesn’t feel at all greasy to apply, which is so refreshing as so many products can feel cakey and thick, which then feel hard to blend into the skin. This absorbs into the skin so well, and doesn’t take forever- again when you’re on the move a lot, the last thing you want is waiting for something to soak in! The formula of the cream has been designed not only to nourish and moisturise the skin/cuticles, but also strengthen the nails.
This hand cream is not only perfect for the current situation we are in, where many are experiencing much more hand washing than usual, but it also helps to soothe hands that have been exposed to all of the elements.
The cream contains thistle oil – known for promoting skin health, British honey – known for healing cracks and aiding production of new skin cells, and lemongrass, which is known for its calming benefits. The combination of these ingredients helps to strengthen the nails, repair cracked skin and soothe, hydrate and nourish the skin. My hand were starting to look a little weathered and dry following the last few months, and this hand cream is definitely helping to revive and hydrate them again.
Barker and Sloane are also supplying the NHS with a hand cream, every time you make a purchase. This is an incredible way to give back to the key workers, who have been faced with the biggest challenges of their lives during these last few months.
I don’t think you can really pick a fault with this product. If you love your online deliveries too, even just unwrapping this hand cream will transport you to luxury.
How much is this product?
This hand and nail cream is priced at £16.00.
Timothy Foxx Tassels in Juno Tweed
What do I love about this brand?
Just about everything! I have been a customer of Timothy Foxx for many many years now. I remember before starting University I was working a show season, travelling show to show. It was a completely miserable show and I was purchased my first ever TF item as a gift – it was a tweed cushion. This cushion came to several shows that season, and has since proudly had pride of place in the middle of my bed every single day since. Said cushion must be almost 10 years old now, and it has never looked better- I think that just proves the incredible quality of the items you receive when buying from Timothy Foxx!
Upon successful acceptance of my university accommodation, I purchased the Timothy Foxx tweed beanbag, I knew I needed as much tweed as possible to make my uni room feel homely. It was then in 2014 that I purchased my first Timothy Foxx tweed skirt, which you will still see popping up on my pages today, it is still a very much treasured item in my wardrobe. Since those first purchases, my TF collection has just been growing and growing, with everything from clothing and accessories, to home-wear! I have loved watching this brand evolve further, as I have continued to remain a customer.
The amazing Rosalie behind the brand has featured in my blog previously, speaking in the run up to Burghley Horse Trials last year. If you have an interest in the shows, you can have a read of this blog here.
Rosalie is one of the most incredibly hard working, enthusiastic and talented women I have met.
I dl also have to touch upon the incredible wedding collection from Timothy Foxx, which is usually showcased at Burghley. I had fallen in love with Rosalie’s incredible wedding dress designs (I already have planned which one I would like, sorry future husband), so if you have a slight wedding dream like me, 100% have a look at these, as you will just fall in love – hello country princess wedding.
I do have a TF brand specific blog coming very soon, so keep an eye out for that as I am really excited to share more about my experience with this country brand, and more about the brand itself. But for now …. on with the specific product featuring this month.
What do I love about this product?
I have just received my newest couple of Timothy Foxx items in the Juno Tweed. This tweed is so beautiful, it has an orange and pink check through a gorgeous light green tweed. I am so delighted and pleased with my pieces that I just had to go back to get the matching tassels to complete the look. There are lots of different coloured tweeds available, so whether you want to pair with one of your specific Timothy Foxx tweeds, or whether you just want to inject the ‘need for tweed‘ into one of your outfits, there will be a tweed colouring perfect for you.
The trend around tassels is just huge now, I have to admit I am completely obsessed, just as everyone else seems to be. They seem to completely finish off the outfit, and there is something quite sassy about your tassels perfectly matching. It makes you feel good!
The tassels are easily interchangeable, simply attach to your boot D rings by pushing the stud through the tab. The stud on these tassels features a cute silver coloured fox head and tail – perfectly on brand. The tassels are approximately 18cm in length – this is just a little longer than the F&F tassels for reference, however they could be trimmed to size if required. I personally really like the slightly longer length. These could also be used as keyrings or handbag accessories.
I think it is highly likely that I will be going back for yet another pair! My Timothy Foxx tweed skirt in Gooseberry is now shouting out for a matching set too!

These tassels are priced at £22.00 per pair.

Now stockists of Chatham Footwear and Oxford Blue, alongside their own products, there is sure to be something featured that you are dying to add to your country wardrobe! With everything from silk scarves, to jumpers to tee’s, Ollie’s Attic have the country wardrobe covered. What do I love about product?
Well if there is one thing we know about me, I do love a hair on hide product. I have an extensive belt and bag collection currently, and they always seem to be my initial ‘go to’ items. I always think they look so eye catching, and really add that polished finish to a perfect country outfit.
I received one of the zebra print purses from Ollie’s Attic, and it came beautifully wrapped. Good packaging is definitely something we tend to look at now, and this item didn’t disappoint.
I really like these smaller style purses for things like the races. We all know by now that I am a serial overpacker – something I have been guilty of for so long. Therefore, it is safe to say I struggle when using a smaller bag, or clutch bag. These types of purses definitely help with organisation within a smaller bag. And help to keep those items you need regularly, easy to reach.
The purses have a double zip, and open up to one main compartment, which means you are not limited to what you can store inside – making this ideal for not only money, but make up, keys and easy to access accessories.
The purse is genuine leather. They are available in a variety of prints including Cow & Leopard, and plain colours including pink, green, orange and blue.
I just adore this purse. A zebra is actually my favourite animal, but I was yet to own anything zebra print- so of course I jumped at the chance of this. I also think the black and white print of this purse makes styling easy, should you just want to carry this with you. These are so affordable, and they look and feel great. This is definitely an irresistible pay day treat!

These purses are priced at £12.00 + P+P
G.H. Hurt & Son Classic Shetland Style Merino Wool Shawl
What do I love about this brand?
Based in Nottingham, and specialising in traditional lace knitwear, G.H.Hurt & Son take the inspiration for their designs from their surroundings, with their latest collection inspired by the Great British Countryside. G.H.Hurt & Son aim to design and create high quality knitwear which is ‘on trend, innovative and quintessentially English’, with their experience dating back to 1912 when the brand was established. Whilst inspired by the countryside, many of the scarves in their newest collection have been named after well known horse trials. The colours of their collection are also breathtaking, with everything from pastel and neutral tones, to bolder, brighter designs.
The brand specialises in men’s and women’s scarves, alongside baby shawls and women’s wraps.
What do I love about this product?
I really like accessories in my wardrobe that offer multiple different options and styles from just one item. This means you can reduce the amount of items needed to create many different looks, changing things up every time.
The merino wool shawl really caught my eye and I knew I would love to have a play around with the different ways to style this type of scarf. I actually really like wearing something round my neck, whether it be a necklace or a scarf, so these are going to see a lot of attention in my wardrobe. We talked a lot about merino wool in my previous blog, so if you want to find out more about its benefits, click here.
The Classic Shetland Style Merino Wool Shawl, which is this specific design, is available in 4 different colours. I have both the Grey and Navy, which are two really simple, staple colours. Both of these would match with pretty much every single outfit of colour option, so offer endless opportunities in your wardrobe. There is also a mushroom and slate blue option though, and I definitely have my eyes on the mushroom shade- it is such a pretty colour.
The scarves arrived so beautifully boxed, they came in a gift box and were beautifully wrapped. I was really excited to see how much I could play around with this style of scarf, as they are something a little different in my wardrobe.
They were actually longer than I first had imagined, so when styling there was definitely enough length in the scarf to create several different looks.
There are endless possibilities when looking at ways to wear these, but wearing with either a triangle of material at the front or back, or playing around with the scarf in a long rectangle, are the easiest and simplest places to begin. Folding the scarf diagonally to create a triangle makes for the perfect shawl style, which would suit perfectly over little summer dresses or skirts, to keep the chill off, whilst adding a country chic accessory to your outfit.
The size of these shawls is 110cm x 110cm.
I love the endless opportunities to change up your outfit with these scarves, and I think they are well priced. They will easily take you from season to season, never going out of style, making for the perfect investment piece.
How much is this product?
These scarves are priced at £47.00 each.
Highfield and Herringbone T-shirt
What do I love about this brand?
Due to launch at the start of July, Highland and Herringbone are a brand new British Country Clothing brand, looking to make waves with their high quality country classics. The brand name can be broken down to two well known countryside loves – the ‘Highland’ cow and ‘Herringbone’ which is often associated with the pattern of tweed. H&H want to keep as much of their design and manufacturing in the UK, something very important to them, and a value they are keen to stick by even as they grow and expand. There will be a mixture of t-shirts and cable knit jumpers launching, alongside the bespoke H&H belt. There are also plans to develop a tweed jacket. The ambition of Charlotte, who can be found behind the brand, is simply inspiring.
As mentioned above, the brand is due to launch very soon now. There is going to be a 20% discount code active until Monday 6th July at Midnight – simply use ‘LAUNCH20’ at the checkout.
Official website launch – 10am Saturday 4th July!
What do I love about this product?
I was immediately drawn to the Helmsdale Tee due to its speckled colourway. I am so excited to be working alongside this brand prior to its launch, it feels like a complete privilege. Knowing that I had had my eye on the product due to how different it’s design was, I was very excited to try and review this tee prior to its launch.
I am loving simple t-shirts at the moment. I am not one to deal with heat well, and my wardrobe has taken a slightly more relaxed feel in this weather.
The Helmsdale tee is the perfect mix of a casual feeling t-shirt, with still a smart, sophisticated feel. More often than not, I don’t like my outfits to look or feel overly casual and relaxed. I like the best of both worlds where I have just thrown something on, but it looks like I have gone to some effort- and this t-shirt offers exactly that.
I love the speckled colouring in the top. This is exactly what had drawn me to the top initially. There is some coral flex in there and it would just look amazing with coral jeans or coral accessories. The different colours within the speckles means you can pick up on many different colour options, and choose that as your outfit focus. The top also features the Highland and Herringbone Country branding across the chest, and the Highland cow embroidery to the bottom corner.
I have this top in an XS, which comes up quite fitted on me. If you were wanting a more relaxed, looser fit, you may want to size up – this is purely from my own experience. I generally prefer more fitted clothing, so the fit of the XS suited my wardrobe well.
I have paired this tee with some white jeans and tan boots for a really easy but chic look. I sometimes feel too much white on white is a little much, but the cream of this t-shirt adds a subtle colour change, and compliments tan boots perfectly. I have also paired with blue denim jeans and deck shoes for a more relaxed, equestrian look. Keep an eye on my Instagram as I style this tee more and more, because I have some great outfit ideas in mind.
The Helmsdale tee is also available in grey and red, and there is also a mens t-shirt launching!
My final thoughts are that I love this tee. I really had been drawn to it from the start, and I like the message behind the brand. These are well priced, wash well, and offer something a little different.
How much is this product?
The Helmsdale Tee is priced at £25.00, or £20 using ‘LAUNCH20’ at the checkout (limited time only).
