Your ultimate guide to Summer footwear with … Fairfax and Favor
☀️ SUMMER’S HERE ☀️
And wow , aren’t I excited about it, what about you? I’m normally an A/W girl, but this year certainly feels a little different! I think that because I lost all of my favourite events, hobbies were put on hold, and the winter felt pretty miserable, it’s making the Summer feel all that more appealing and special. This year I’m welcoming it in with open arms ☀️!
Whilst I am definitely more comfortable with A/W style, I love that in the Summer months you don’t have to hide your perfect outfit under a coat- it’s on show for everyone to see! It’s also a chance to wear something other than tall boots, which is why I am so excited to share this with you! This blog has been so highly requested, and I can’t wait to share some of my thoughts, and favourite products with you!
Fairfax and Favor … 👢
Best known for their boot collection, Fairfax & Favor is a multi-award winning luxury lifestyle brand, launched in 2013 by childhood friends, Marcus and Felix. Starting from humble beginnings, the brand has gone from strength to strength. Expanding the range from their original footwear designs, Fairfax & Favor now boasts a whole range of footwear, clothing and accessories. Aiming to create beautiful, high quality pieces, suitable for both Town and Country, this brand is quite literally taking the world by storm! I have been so excited to share with you some of my favourite Summer picks from the Fairfax & Favor collection. Whilst I am completely obsessed with the Fairfax & Favor boot collection, which I do wear all year round, I wanted to share my thoughts on some of the other styles within the brand. This blog aims to showcase a range of my favourite Summer pieces which would fit seamlessly into your wardrobe.
So, whether you’re heading on a staycation, looking to treat yourself, or just interested in finding out a little more about the other footwear collections from the F&F collection … this blog is for you!
Grab your cup of coffee…. or glass of Prosecco 🥂, and let’s get going …
☀️THE SALCOMBE☀️
The ultimate, practical, classic Summer essential!

Being a horsey girl through and through, deck shoes are an essential to me. I have always been a ‘wellies in the winter, decks in the Summer’ kind of girl! My deck shoes never get off lightly, they are probably the one other shoe in my collection (other than my wellies) that are actually expected to really do some work. I rely on super hard wearing, comfortable decks.
I have to admit, I wondered if the Salcombe Decks would be up to the lifestyle I would throw at them, or whether they would be better suited to the odd dog walk and pub lunch, acting as a casual slip on. Wow, I did not give these shoes enough credit! I hate to say it, but these are probably the most comfortable pair of F&F shoes that I own. Every part of them just seems to mould to your foot! This is perfect if you’re looking for a practical every day shoe, especially if you do want something to throw on if you’re on your feet a lot!
Alongside comfort, these are certainly build with durability and practicality in mind. There have been several times now where I have really thought ‘Lucinda you’ve pushed it too far, these are ruined’… Then magically, they have just bounced back. Mine have genuinely been submerged in mud, mucked out stables, poo picked fields, been on every possible type of walk, and then STILL cleaned up and made it to that pub lunch.
Initially, I was worried that it would be the nubuck exterior that may not hold out as well in an equestrian wardrobe compared to a leather style shoe, however they have actually completely held their own, and kept on going every, single time. I have always protected them with the Liquiproof protector spray just to give them a little helping hand, and when they have become very dirty, I’ve cleaned them up using the Liquiproof cleaner. This has worked every time, and they somehow just seem to come up sparking again. If you want to check out just how well mine to clean up – you can check out this blog here.
These are the perfect Summer shoe for anyone wanting to combine practicality with a classic country style. Deck shoes have become an incredibly popular choice amongst all Countryside lovers- the combination of comfort, durability, and ease of styling makes them a go to for both work and play!

Nubuck exterior with gold eyelet detailing

Lace exterior detail
Multiple colourways to choose from

I took this product in my usual size, and I find them to fit true to size.

☀️THE HEMSBY☀️
My every day go to essential – every wardrobe needs these!

If there is ever a shoe for all occasions – it’s that of the trusty loafer. I’ve owned the Hembys for a couple of years now, and their simple, practical design has made them a ‘go to’ consistently for me. If you’re looking for the easiest, most versatile loafer to add to your wardrobe this Summer- this is it!
With a simple enough design to be paired with absolutely any outfit, these come out of my wardrobe time and time again as it takes minimal effort to include them in an outfit, and I can guarantee they will suit everything, from dresses to shorts to jeans to skirts! The Hemsby is the perfect mix of Country smart/casual, and is such a soft, comfortable design.
I have sprayed these loafers with the Liquiproof protector spray again and this has ensured they are really durable. If you follow my social media accounts – you may remember Torquay 2020 – when we thought they may have just seen a little too much- but as always, they cleaned up a treat! They are yet another pair of shoes which just seem to bounce back time and time again, whatever is thrown at them. The classic driving shoe design is such a popular option, and this comes in some great colourways.
These are so comfortable, and so easy to just slip on with anything and everything. The Hemsby are probably my most worn shoe, I can rely on them when I just have no idea what to wear, and they are such a perfect mix of smart casual that they just ft seamlessly into my wardrobe. If you are just looking for a really trusty allrounder – these are the shoes for you!

Features:
Rubber sole & padded insole
Signature gold shield logo
Pebble sole
Optional colourways.
Colourways available:

I have this product in my usual size. Initially I found them maybe just a little bigger than some other designs, this is potentially because they are such a soft design. However, I just put a couple of heel grips on the back. These helped to resolve the slight bit of additional movement, and these now fit perfectly.
Style with me:

Perfect for: Someone wanting a Summer allrounder!
Top style tip: team with a summer fedora and your favourite outfit, for a classic Summer style!

☀️THE BRANCASTER☀️
Every girl needs a beautiful Summer sandal!

Every wardrobe needs a trusty Summer sandal. I am such a huge fan of the Brancaster – these have been designed in a classic sandal style, with all of the signature F&F twists added. If you’re looking for a cute little allrounder to team with your favourite jeans or dresses – then these are the Summer pick for you. If you’ve got a staycation planned, these really would take you from day to night styling, and would be comfortable enough to wear all day! This would also help to cut down on packing – if you’re looking to create that capsule Summer wardrobe or packing with limited space in mind these are great.
These have been created in a supportive and comfortable design. Sometimes sandals can feel very hard if the sole is too thin and flat, but with the signature F&F comfort insole, there’s no worries about getting sore feet whilst walking round all day in these! I’ve also never found the toe post to rub on these sandals- which is another real advantage!
These sandals just ooze that extra detail that we love from the F&F designs. The tassels on the back, and beautiful suede finish really help these to feel a special piece. For the perfect Holiday styling, I would team with shorts or a dress during the day, and a maxi dress or monochrome dress in the evening. If dresses aren’t your favourite style – opt for a playsuit instead!
Coming in a range of really practical colours, there is certainly a Brancaster for every wardrobe. Opting for tan or navy is a great way to ensure these will team with everything you own, but … why not try some of the more statement styles. With seasonal colour ways and haricalf designs also an option, these can be as subtle or statement as you like! The Brancaster is generally also released in a limited edition colour year on year too- these are always an incredibly popular option, and have been released in some of the most beautiful colourways!
If you want to read more about the Brancaster specifically – check out my blog dedicated to the sandal – linked here.

Features:
Comfort insole
Signature gold shield logo
Subtle 2cm heel
Tassel detailing to rear zip
Multiple colour combinations available
Colourways available:

This product runs a little big, and F&F recommend that if you are between sizes, to size down. I sized down in this product and found the smaller size to be a better fit.
Style with me:

Perfect for: The beach lover wanting comfort and style
Top style tip: Team with a pretty white dress for the ultimate seaside style

☀️THE MONACO WEDGE☀️
Weddings, racing, beaches, whatever the occasion, the Monaco is here for it!

Whether it’s the races, a wedding or the perfect date night that you’re planning for – the Monaco Wedge is sure to be top of your list. These wedges are SO comfortable, and can be dressed up or down really easily. The almond shaped toe is such a flattering, elegant shape, and these shoes are dainty and pretty – perfectly paired with a dress, but still sturdy enough to be able to wear all day.
The Monaco sports a modest 8cm heel, which is the perfect height to elegantly lift, without feeling like a full high heel shoe. Wedges are often a firm favourite with those who want a more dressy shoe, without the difficulty of walking in a normal heel. With more of the shoes surface in contact with the floor, wedges are generally more balanced, making them easier and more confortable to walk in than a classic stiletto heel. Wedges also help to release some of the pressure on the balls of your feet – which is great if you’re planning to wear them all day! The Monaco Wedge also has a rubber sole, which helps to relieve the risk of your shoe slipping!
These are another shoe that are a must have for those holidays or staycations. Such an easy to wear shoe, but styled perfectly for those evenings looking out over the ocean with an Aperol Spritz. I love pairing mine with matching accessories for a really polished and well put together look!
I can’t rate these highly enough! As someone who isn’t the best in heels following a very badly broken ankle – wedges have become quite the favourite for me – allowing that dressing up, elegant feel, without the pressure thet comes with high heels. These would be the perfect Summer addition for someone who wants to enjoy styling up their favourite country clothing for a variety of different occasions – without ever having to reach for a classic heel!

Features:
Suede exterier
Tonal toe embroidery
Ankle strap featuring chevron buckle
8cm braided wedge heel
Contrast colour tassel to rear
Gold shield detailing
Rubber sole and comfort insole
Multiple colour options
Colourways available:

I found this product to be true to size. The ankle strap allows for some extra support, and you could hide ankle grips inside these if you were between sizes and wanted to make them a little more snug.

Perfect for: The practical fashionista!
Top style tip: Pair with a dress for the races or a wedding for a practical, stylish and elegant look!

☀️THE REGINA ANKLE BOOT☀️
Ooozing elegance, the Regina Ankle is the perfect boot for your favourite Summer dresses and skirts.

The ‘little sister’ of the well renowned Regina tall boot – the Regina ankle sports some of the classic elements of its highly celebrated sister, whilst employing its own understated elegance. The scalloped edge to the top of the boot is both tasteful and timeless, whilst the almond pointed toe and block heel nod towards an effortlessly classic design, one that you’ll want to reach for time and time again.
I was instantly drawn to the ankle Regina, at first sight, what’s not to love. But … I guess I found myself toying a little with the idea of when I would specifically pick this over another pair of my ankle boots – which if you’re reading this blog, may be the very dilemma that you too are facing. What I can say, is that the Ankle Regina will certainly hold its own amongst any other footwear in your wardrobe, and is suitable for a multitude of occasions.
Certainly speaking only from my own experience, but I have sometimes felt like some ankle boots have looked a little clumpy on me – particularly if paired with a dress or skirt, depending on their style. I like the ankle boot style with both of these items though, so it’s something I try to continually test out. The shaping at the top of these boots really help them to create a more seamless line from ankle boot to leg, which creates the perfect boot to sport with something other than trousers. If you too are a little unsure with styling ankle boots, in the first instance, my best advice is to use tights in the same colour. If you’re wearing tan boots, nude tights are a great option, and if wearing chocolate boots, brown tights can work really well.
These ARE the perfect boot for the Regina tall boot lover, who now wants the Summer version to wear in the warmer months. This exquisite design will really have you feeling as special as the classic Regina does. I think this boot is hugely underrated at the moment, and it definitely deserves a shout out.
The 5cm heel gives enough of a lift on these boots to feel elegant, whilst not being too high to feel impracticable or uncomfortable!

Features:
Suede outer with leather lining
Rear pinch tab with signature gold logo
Duel rubber and leather sole
5cm arch block heel
Colourways available:

I found this product to be true to size! If you are between sizes, F&F recommend sizing up in this product.
Style with me:

Perfect for: The Regina tall boot lover!!
Top style tip: Pair with white jeans for smart/casual styling, and a skirt or dress when you want to create a little more of an impact!

☀️THE ROCKINGHAM ANKLE BOOT☀️
Take the classic Chelsea boot, and give it a sassy little sister – meet the Rockingham Ankle boot!

Similarly to the Ankle Regina, the Rockingham ankle boot has earned a rightful spot in any wardrobe. I have been a huge advocate for the whole Rockingham family of footwear. I love each boot within the collection – and the full range is perfectly suited to the Country wardrobe!
Inspired by Western design, the Rockingham ankle certainly keeps in line with the Western theme, with its stitched detailing to the toe, and 6cm Cuban heel. At the time of the launch of this boot, I had been looking for the perfect Chelsea boot to add to my collection, but nothing was really drawing my attention. This ankle boot was much more to my style than a traditional Chelsea boot, with the 6cm heel offering a flattering take on a classic flat design. It isn’t enough of a heel to feel like you are going to stumble if you aren’t a fan of any height, but it is enough to make you feel a little lifted, and to elongate the boots, creating such a flattering, desired look.
I wanted these as a pair of ‘throw on’ boots, so I went for the Chocolate as I just thought these would possibly be slightly easier to maintain as an ankle boot. I find Chocolate ever so slightly harder to style, I think probably because I wear a lot of Navy, so tend to be drawn to Navy or Tan. However, they are actually incredibly easy to style though, and the colour is standing up to their lifestyle.
You can read my blog about the whole Rockingham family here.

Features:
Suede or leather exterior options
Leather lined interior
Hand stitched toe detailing
Duel leather and rubber sole
6cm cuban heel
Memory foam insole
Colourways available:

F&F recommend if you are between sizes, to size up in this item. Always refer to their size guide online if you aren’t sure! I sized down in this boot by 1 size, which I also did with the mid-calf version from this family – this is quite unusual, so please check the online size guide as your first reference.
Style with me:

Perfect for: Someone wanting a practical Summer boot, to sport with a variety of outfits!
Top style tip: Pair with jeans during the day and style with a smock dress at night!
Priced at £250.00 – £255.00
☀️THE HOLKHAM☀️
The perfect mix of smart and casual – these will become your easy every day slip on!

I’ve not had a slider or lighter Summer shoe in my wardrobe for a little while now, but I love the Holkam. I am usually partial to a loafer, so I wasn’t sure whether these would find a suitable place in my wardrobe day to day. Once again, it’s proven that trying something new can really be a benefit. Sometimes you may want something a little lighter or more airy than a loafer, of which the Holkham offers both. They are also a great holiday pick, taking up minimal packing space, but offering a comfortable, beach ready design.
I have been reaching for these time and time again. The comfort insole makes these super comfortable – so you don’t have to worry about walking round in them and them remaining comfortable. They aren’t too wide on my feet either, so my foot doesn’t slide around in them, making them feel quite secure for a slider.
These pair with everything, there really isn’t an outfit so far when I’ve felt they didn’t work when I put them on. I have tried them across a broad range of outfits already – ranging from white dresses out in the evening, to jeans and a sweatshirt for a casual day look. They are really versatile, and being reasonably priced – the biggest decision isn’t whether to get a pair, it’s which colour to get!

Features:
Suede cross over straps
Comfort insole
Rubber & leather sole
Central signature gold shield
Available in classic navy and tan
Colourways available:

I found this product to be true to size.
Style with me:

Perfect for: Keeping by the door, whether you want to slip them on for a quiet day in the garden, or wear them out with your favourite dress!
Top style tip: Choose the colour that best compliments the main foundation colour of your wardrobe. If you integrate a lot of Navy into your outfits, opt for the Navy, if neutrals are more your thing – opt for Tan.

☀️THE SAINT TROPEZ☀️
Bring the beach feeling to you! These have all the holiday feels!

From the moment I first saw the St Tropez, I knew they were completely meant for me. I don’t own anything like this, and I don’t think I have owned anything like this – but it was love at first sight!! These are such a Summery design, but they have the ability to be paired with so many different outfit styles. The zebra embroidery on the front has such a luxe look to it, whilst the jute covered detailing indicates classic espadrille style. These will have you feeling like you’re in va-cay mode every day – they are just so cute.
I thought the St Tropez would be a really practical flat to add into my wardrobe, whether I wanted them teamed with a cute Summery dress, or thrown on with jeans and bodysuit for everyday casual, I have found these so easy to style! There are a few different colour options available. I went for the Tan as I knew they would go with absolutely everything. I have to admit, I was equally tempted by the Navy, which in my wardrobe, would have paired just as easily.
The insole on these feels like you are walking on clouds – they are SO comfortable. See below for my thoughts on the sizing!

Features:
Embroidered zebra detail on almond shaped toe
Contrasting leather pull tab
Anti-slip rubber sole and comfort insole
Braided jute covered edges
Suede upper in tan, navy or fuchsia
Colourways available:

These are showing true to size online. I personally found that I probably should have sized down. I found that because the sole is quite chunky, and weighty, it pulls the shoe off my ankle. I am between sizes in a few of the F&F styles so this may not be the case for everyone. I found that my ankle grips I normally use didn’t stick in these shoes due to the elasticated edges, so I purchased some of the toe insoles which help to size down a shoe. I always recommend using the size guide online as your first reference for sizing.
Style with me:

Perfect for: Someone looking for an ultra comfortable, but stylish flat!
Top style tip: Team with a pretty neutral Summer dress for the ultimate Summer look!
