So much more than Pretty in Pink … Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Fairfax & Favor

💖 Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💖

Did you know that Breast Cancer is the most common form of Cancer in the UK, and despite it mainly affecting women, in rare cases it can also affect men. Tumours can form in the breast tissue when abnormal cells begin to grow and divide, becoming uncontrolable. Checking your breasts regularly is so important, as the earlier the diagnosis of Breast Cancer, the easier it is to treat.

Around one in seven women in the UK will develop Breast Cancer in their lifetime, with around 55,000 women in the UK diagnosed with Breast Cancer every year, making it the most common cancer in the UK. Whilst the exact cause of this cancer isn’t fully understood, it is believed that it can be affected by multiple factors, including age, family history and lifestyle.

A common symptom of Breast Cancer is noticing a change/thickening to the breast, or a lump, however there are more signs and symptoms which you can be aware of, which you can find here. There is lots of information online about what to look for, how to check yourself and the help that is available if you find something that you don’t think is normal for you. I would urge each and every one of you to make yourself familiar with the signs and symptoms of Breast Cancer, and how to check your breasts, it could be life saving. Lots of this information can be found here.

Every year, throughout the month of October, the world comes together to show support for those affected by Breast Cancer, as well as increasing awareness, education and research. The more awareness raised around the topic, the better.
There are multiple ways to get involved in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so whether you’re able to wear it pink, donate or run an event, there’s a way for everyone to not only get involved, but increase their own awareness.

Shopaholic like me? Well the good news is that some brands have produced special Limited Edition products to purchase, which are helping to fund this all important research and support.

If you are able to contribute any donation to Breast Cancer Now, no matter how large or small, you can do this directly through their website – www.breastcancernow.org

💖 Fairfax & Favor and Breast Cancer Now 💖

Fairfax & Favor are supporting Breast Cancer Now for the 8th year, with the profits from 3 limited edition items going to the charity. A whopping £303,773 has already been raised by the brand since 2015, when they first launched products in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Raising money for a charity which is extremely close to the founders of Fairfax & Favor, the brand has found a way to not only provide support through raising funds, but also spreading and raising awareness for Breast Cancer.

Laura Hughes is the Fairfax & Favor Think Pink and Breast Cancer Now Ambassador – you can follow her journey – @baldbooblessandbeautiful . If you would like to read about Laura’s story, and also her photoshoot for the campaign, you can find her exclusive guest blog here.

Year after year, highly sought after pink items are released, with all profits going to the Breast Cancer Now charity. Let’s have a look at the 2022 Limited Edition products…

💖 2022 Limited Edition Products 💖

Unfortunately, if you were hoping to get your hands on the limited edition products for this year, they have now SOLD OUT!! Occasionally these products do come back into stock in certain sizes throughout the month, so keep an eye on the F&F website if you are desperate for something! If you were fortunate enough to get your hands on these, or just want to find out a little more about each piece … let’s have a look below!

~ The Finsbury Women’s Crossbody Bag in BCN Pink ~

One of Fairfax & Favors well known crossbodys, the Finsbury takes on the Classic camera bag shape, with a luxurious suede and leather exterior.

Boasting a large interior compartment, alongside an internal zip and external back pocket, there’s plenty of space in the Finsbury to take everything you need and keep it organised for the day. The base of the bag has golden studs to protect and elongate the lifetime of your product.

I would style the Finsbury in the summer with a pretty white dress, summer sandals and finish with the matching Regina belt in pink suede! For A/W styling, team over the top of your favourite camel coat, and add tan boots with pink tassels for an elegant, chic finish.

~ The Alexandra Women’s Trainer in White Leather with Pink Suede ~

The Alexandra Trainers have become a wardrobe staple of F&F fans, often completely selling out. With the unique chevon features to the side of the shoe, and the gold shield hardware, the Alexandra trainers subtly nod towards the F&F detailing we all know and love.

The Alexandra Trainers have launched in a Limited Edition pink suede in line with Breast Cancer Awareness month, and wow these are definitely a wardrobe must have!

The Alexandra Trainers have the potential to be styled in so many different ways. For Summer styling I would team with pretty dresses and matching waist belt, or with simple denim jeans and floral top. Come A/W, these look great styled with jeans and a cosy jumper.

~ The Regina Women’s Belt in BCN Pink Suede ~

This has to be my favourite style of belt that Fairfax & Favor have released. The Regina belt is perfectly crafted with its tonal stitching and scalloped edge, and of course not forgetting the signature gold buckle. Whether you want to dress up or down, the Regina belt will certainly add that special finishing touch to any outfit.

The Regina belt is the perfect finishing touch to any Summer dress, cinching in at the waist and bringing a touch of elegance and style through its baby pink suede. In the Winter, team your Regina belt with your favourite high waisted jeans and roll neck jumper, your F&F boots, and finish with a pair of pink tassels!

This is such an important topic, and with still a little over 2 weeks of Breast Cancer Awareness Month to go, there are still ways to get involved with donating, taking part, and familiarising yourself with checking your breast and the symptoms to look out for.

I know this is a difficult topic which affects so many, and I am sending lots of love out with this blog.

See you soon.

Lots of love, Lucinda xo
