Game Fair 2025: A guide to what’s on… and what to wear! Including 15 country inspired outfits you’ll want to snap up!

🌾 Things to Do at The Game Fair 2025 🌾

Attending The Game Fair isn’t just about attending one of the ‘it’ events of the season – it’s a true celebration of rural life.

Here’s some things that you simply must try and fit in during your day:

Falconry & Gundog Displays: Up close and personal with both birds of prey and Gundogs, every demonstration is filled with character and precision. Falconry and Gundog displays can be seen both in the main area, and in their specific areas around the event.

Hound Parades & Pony Club Mounted Games: Charms of rural tradition, the hound parade is not to be missed. Usually featuring twice a day in the main arena – this incredibly special site is very close to my heart, and not to be missed! Looking for a thrill – well you will certainly get that from the fantastic Shetland Pony Grand National – these little ponies and jockeys are full of energy and joy.

Country Craft, Conservation & Heritage: I urge you to soak up everything the Game Fair has to offer, from traditional crafts to conservation – here you can learn and appreciate the rural skillset that builds our heritage.

Clay Shooting, Fly-Fishing & Off-Road Driving: Whether you want to have a go at Archery or clay shooting – The Game Fair is the perfect opportunity to have a go! No judgement, just fun! Pick something you’d love to understand more about, and get stuck in! This is the perfect place for it!

Artisanal Food & Local Producers Market: Wild boar burgers, venison pies, pheasant goujons – you name it, it’s here! And my goodness is it utterly DELICIOUS! Fancy a little break – head into the The Game Theatre!

Lifestyle & Fashion Stands: Let’s not forget the shopping!! All your favourite country brands will be there in full force, and it’s pretty impressive if you ask me! Purses at the ready – it’s going to be dangerous!

👑 Welligogs Best Dressed Ladies Competition 👑

It’s back for another year!

Taking place on Friday 25th at 2pm, the Welligogs Ladies Day Competition is back in full swing. Everyone is welcome to enter, there will be scouts on the day keeping an eye out for spectacular outfits, or you can arrive at the stand to participate.

This is a real celebration of Countryside fashion, and a chance for everyone to get involved.

As always there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs, so what are you waiting for!

Top Tips:

-The judges will want to see something a little different – so never feel like your outfit isn’t the right fit!
-Confidence is key, own what your wearing, and give it all the confidence you have.
-Think about accessorising, could you add a hat, scarf or something else to create a more unique look?
-Consider mixing textures throughout your look, to create a balanced but well thought out look.
-Use the rule of three (three pieces in the same colour to balance out a look).
– Think both practical and stylish, often the best Country fashion outfits have a nod to their roots!
-Think of incorporating something that makes you, you! Personality is everything and when it shines through in fashion – it’s spectacular.

👢How to Dress for The Game Fair👢

1. Look Stylish, Stay Practical

Footwear: I cannot stress how much I advise comfortable, practical footwear for the day. This isn’t the time to be breaking in a new pair of shoes. I’d advise wellies if it is raining, or deck shoes, loafers of suede boots otherwise. Try to think about the weather. If it is boiling hot – tall boots might not be the most comfortable. Equally, if we are due rain – it isn’t practical to wear your favourite suede loafers!
Layers: I love wearing a dress, or shirt and tweed skirt. Think about those extra layers which might be helpful if there’s a breeze – you can’t go wrong with a fleece gilet!
Accessories: A fedora or baker‑boy cap really complete the country aesthetic look, and definitely help with your hair whether it’s hot or windy! I love finishing off my outfits with a silk scarf, belt and matching bag.
Handbag essentials: foldable umbrella, sunglasses, suncream – be prepared for any weather!

2. Think Colours & Textures

Embrace classic countryside hues: greens, creams and browns will certainly dominate. These make for that classic country styling, and a really polished look. Think about mixing textures – silks, tweeds, lace, linen, mixing textures can help balance your outfit.

3. Rule of Three

If you’re struggling to put together your look, start with a basic base – I am talking a white or navy dress, or a white blouse and tweed skirt, from here you can accessorise. If you use the rule of three, you can balance out a simple outfit using some colour, or a classic finish. Think about adding a hat, scarf, bag, belt, footwear in a certain colour. For example, team your dress base with a navy hat, bag and loafers/boots. It is the simplest way to put an outfit together.
