A Day at The Game Fair with … Holland Cooper!

Hello my Darlings!
Happy August!

Wow, where is the time going, it really is flying at the moment (do I always say this… I think so!). I am having such a great Summer with the shows, and of course, we have just had The Game Fair – one of my all time favourites!!

I was so lucky to be invited to the first day of The Game Fair by no other than Classic British clothing brand, Holland Cooper. I was invited alongside two beautiful creators- Jasmine Punter (@Jasminepunter) and Sophie Hall (@Sophieahall94). I can’t believe I haven’t met these gorgeous girls already, especially when we have so much in common, but it was great to finally see them both at this event! We all had such a wonderful day, I just had to share what we got up to with you!

Whether you experience The Game Fair every year, if this was your first time, or if you’re dreaming of going, grab a drink and have a read of everything that is on offer!

A little bit about The Game Fair …

The Game Fair was first established in 1958, and formally The CLA Game Fair; The Game Fair as we know it now has a permanent home at the beautiful Ragley Hall in Warwickshire, and brings together those with a love and passion for everything Countryside and Country life!

Celebrating the British countryside, and its field sports, The Game Fair hosts something for everyone, with clay shooting to fishing to falconry. Boasting comprehensive shopping and food and drink stalls, there is a true sense of Country life through every aspect of the event. It is said that over 100,000 attend The Game Fair – which is situated within the 450 acres of parkland surrounding Ragley Hall.

There are many notable elements to The Game Fair, from Gunmakers row to the Fishing Village to the Shooting Line. Alongside a celebration of everything to do with the Countryside, there are so many opportunities to try your hand at some activities you may not have had chance to participate in before. So whether you want to try shooting, fishing or off roading, there’s a chance to get stuck into everything on the day – and with the event running over a 3 day period, you can make a full weekend of it!

Of course, as you know I was there with Holland Cooper – so let’s have a closer look at their phenomenal stand!

The Holland Cooper Stand

This was Holland Coopers biggest stand, with everything from flower walls to a bar – what more could a girl wish for!

Ok, this stand was seriously impressive! Complete with a hospitality area and complimentary bar to keep you hydrated whilst you browse, Holland Cooper went all out to give their customers the best shopping experience you could imagine at the event. Showcasing new products as well as their timeless tweed staples and equestrian range, the stand boasted all aspects of the extensive Holland Cooper range.

The experience you get when shopping on a stand like this is second to none. With staff members on hand to help with everything from colour to fit, you’ll have an incredible experience, walking out with exactly what you came for (and no doubt even more 😉). Something Holland Cooper has always prided themselves on is an exceptional customer experience, with a spacious shopping environment, and so much of the range to browse, it was an effortless experience to peruse the beautiful ranges.

Coming to the shows is also a great way to see the new in pieces up close and personal. Recent releases include the Seattle V-Neck Knits, Seattle Cable Knit Crews, Featherton Lace Shirt, Riviera Espadrilles and the Seville Wedge Sandals, all of which were showcased beautifully on the stand!

An Action Packed Day!

Holland Cooper had planned such a wonderful day for us, where we could really experience all of the action from The Game Fair. We started the day on the stand, of course!, trying on some of our favourite pieces and gathering some content for the show – after all – this is what we do! We also managed to get some pictures at the flower wall, where they were running a very generous giveaway prize for customers submitting their entires via social media! There is just something about a good flower wall isn’t it, and HC really did go all out to make the most beautiful backdrop for your Game Fair Images.

With so much on in the Main Arena at The Game Fair, we went to check out some of the action as it was happening. This includes everything from Pony Club Mounted Games, to Hound Parades, to The Shetland Pony Grand National. There is a full agenda every day, where you can catch displays and demonstrations for all of the Country pursuits.

We were able to spend some one on one time in the Falconry Village with Charlotte, who showed us her incredible collection of birds. I absolutely love Falconry and it is something I would love to learn even more about, you really gain a whole new appreciation for these magnificent birds when you see them up close and hear their unique stories! Now this wasn’t just any catch up on the birds – we got to hold them! We met the lovely Gordon who I think filled the hearts of all of us! You can see a little picture of Gordon below – I think you’ll agree, he was just beautiful!

It was now time for a spot of lunch, and if you’re a foodie, you’ll be pleased to know there is an extensive range of foods on offer to try at The Game Fair. Whether it’s cheese, classics, a pizza, or something a little more ‘exotic’, the food stalls are really going to make your mouth water! We were pretty split on the day, whilst some opted for delicious looking Pizzas, Jaz and I opted for the Wild Boar and Venison options for burgers! These were UNBELIEVABLE- if you’re at any other Country shows – do keep an eye out for these types of burger!

After fuelling up over lunch, we then tried our hand at some fishing! Now I know what some of you may be thinking, you’re a horse rider Lucinda, surely you needed something a bit more fast paced. WELL, let me tell you, who knew this would be SO MUCH fun and so competitive (or maybe that was just that you mixed 3 riders together!!)! I had no idea we would actually catch something, but myself, Sophie and Jasmine all did! (Please note, all fish were returned!!). I do hate to say it, but Jasmine showed us all up with her catch of the day … however… what is it they say about size?! 🐟

*Deathly silence*
Moving on…

Next up …. 4×4 off road driving. Now, I have to admit, my driving doesn’t seem all that confidence filling at the best of times, but we were lucky that the lovely Jasmine, who took one for the team, drove myself and Sophie around the course. Jasmine ACED it! Wow, she was great – this course was not easy, and probably not for the faint hearted if a hill start fills you with terror! I think Sophie and I were great back seat drivers – and company of course!

Once we had finished the 4×4 course, we had some time to have a look around the show again, and do some last minute shopping. We were desperate for something really cold and refreshing to take round with us and managed to find a delicious iced coffee stand – if you’re also made up of 80% iced coffee in the Summer, you’re my type of person!

The Game Fair extends over a large area of the grounds of Ragley Hall, and there is so much to see and do – it is really spectacular!

I have been attending this show since I was a little girl, and I have made some wonderful memories here over the years! I am so grateful to have been invited by Holland Cooper to spend the day with them at one of my favourite events!
