5 ‘new in’ pieces that I have been loving as part of my Country wardrobe recently …

Welcome back!

It’s been a little while since the last blog, but things have been both hectic and stressful here, however that’s a story for another day!

Today’s blog is diving into a few pieces that have been getting lots of wear from my wardrobe recently. As an avid Country fashion fan, I am always on the look out for new in pieces, or start up brands. This blog brings a mix of well known favourites, and a brand new brand, to give you an insight into the new pieces in my Country wardrobe at the moment.

I think there’s something for everyone in this blog!

Let’s get into it…

Ada Woman’s Cape in Biscuit Wool Mix
Fairfax & Favor

The product:

A brand that certainly needs no introduction on this blog. Fairfax & Favor are a luxury British lifestyle brand, boasting the most beautiful collection of clothing, footwear and accessories. Best known for their legendary Regina boot, the brand has since expanded into a whole host of accessories, and even outerwear.

The Ada Cape, is a brand new release from F&F, and I think you’ll join me in agreeing this is a real showstopper. The wool mix and two different neck pieces to choose from make this not only a cosy piece, but a versatile one too. With all the luxury details you would expect, this cape is the perfect day to night piece for your wardrobe. The cape also has pockets!! Something which is a game changer for me!

Wear either zipped up for a cosy style, or unzipped and open as the finishing touch to your outfit, The Ada Cape is truly a piece you’ll want to be styling time and time again.

I love the fact that with capes you can layer as much or as little as you require underneath, meaning they can take you from season to season.

The sizing guide for the cape comes up as true to size, however in my option, this comes up large. For reference, I have the UK size 8, and could have probably sized down.

Sizes: UK 6 – UK 18.
Also available in Black.

How to style:

This is the perfect Cheltenham races outfit finale. I would team with white jeans, a chunky roll neck, and some F&F suede boots for the ultimate look. Using Tan accessories would be the perfect way to create a chick, elegant look.

If you prefer the Black colour way, I would style with black jeans and some black leather boots, using white or cream to then brighten the outfit through a blouse or knitwear.

With Cheltenham Festival just around the corner, if you’re looking to treat yourself, this is the perfect piece!

Willow Belt – Tan with Gold
Fig & Twig

The product:

Fig & Twig launched in January 2024, and it is safe to say they have found a real gap in the market. Based in North Yorkshire, with a true love of the Countryside, Fig & Twig introduced their first product, The Willow Belt. These belts are elasticated, and fully adjustable, meaning effortless styling, whether you want to wear as a waist belt with a dress, or round your hips with a fair of jeans.

From the first moment I saw these belts, I just knew I had to get one to try, (and one very quickly turned to 3!). The snaffle bit fastening nods to my favourite Equestrian style, whilst the ease of use and versatility of the belt is something I cannot believe I managed without. As someone who has somewhat gained a little post Christmas and multiple January birth celebrations, I am eternally grateful for the give in these belts, meaning you can continue to feel comfortable and confident, something which is so important when it comes to style.

The belts have a gorgeous Fig & Twig logo detailing all the way round.

One Size.
Also available in Brown, Green and Slate (and Silver & Gold snaffle bits).

How to style:

It’s safe to say, I haven’t really taken these off since getting my first one. Whether it is teamed with a dress for work, or jeans and wellies for the weekend.

This is the perfect accessory for all seasons. I would style with tweed skirts and chunky roll knit dresses in the Winter, and then pretty white dresses, or shorts in the Summer months. You can use the Silver/Gold bit to tie in to your jewellery or accessory hardware, as well as using the colour of the belt to tie in to the rest of your accessories such as your footwear, handbags or scarves.

Womens Holt Barley & Cream Fleece
The Famous Pheasant

The product:

I am a huge fan of The Famous Pheasant. Established in 2021, this is the in house brand of DLB Fieldsports. With over 17 years experience in Fieldsports, it is safe to say the brand not only understands what customers want, but what they need for practicality and function as well. Their stylish range of Country inspired clothing is both stylish, and functional.

The Holt fleece is a relatively new release from the brand, and has fast become a favourite to reach for in my wardrobe.

The two tone marled fleece, and tonal stitching, as well as the zip pockets and funnel neck, really do make this piece one that is perfect for both work and play. The fleece is beautifully lightweight, but warm, making it a great layering piece, as well as perfect as a stand alone.

I am wearing a size XS for reference.

Sizes XS – XXL (UK 6 – 18).

How to style:

Whether you want to dress up with white jeans and a pair of boots, or dress down with leggings and a pair of wellies, this super soft piece will easily become a ‘go to’ for you.

It is exactly the sort of item in your wardrobe that you could wear to the yard one day, and then out shopping with friends the next – and it is these type of pieces that make slow fashion, and capsules wardrobes easy!

Dulcote Navy Band Jacket
Joules

The product:

If you are a regular on the blog, you’ll know that I have been a fan of Joules since a very young age, some of you may even remember the lilac rugby top story! It is safe to say that the brand is one of those that grows with you. Founded in 1989 by Tom Joules himself, the brand has always wanted to produce high quality, practice and stylish clothing for the lovers of the outdoors. As the brand has developed, its roots have remained with beautiful prints and timeless styles.

From the moment I saw Joules releasing this jacket, I just knew it was for me. The stunning tailored fit of the jacket, along with the luxury gold detailing, this is one of those pieces you know you will continue to wear for years to come.

The Dulcote is a wool blend and in a structured fit, making this a classically timeless piece, as you would expect from Joules. All of the little details make this a stand out piece, and it will certainly be the envy amongst friends.

I am wearing a size 8 for reference.

Available in sizes UK 6 – 16.

How to style:

I have been getting a lot of wear from this jacket. It had taken me from race days to country walks. and pretty much everything in between. Due to the stand up colour, it works really well with a roll neck jumper. Style effortlessly with jeans for weekend styling, or a skirt for the racing. Due to the style of the jacket, this will easily transition into Spring styling too!

Tori Half Zip Knit – Natural
Holland Cooper

The product:

Holland Cooper is known for oozing luxury throughout their beautifully crafted pieces. Started by queen of fashion, Jade Holland Cooper, the brand set out in 2008 at Badminton Horse Trials, with a limited number of tweed skirts, and since then, Jade has never looked back. Now with a boutique in Cheltenham, and a World wide presence, it is safe to say this brand is what dreams are made of.

One of their new releases, the Tori Half Zip, is a piece that boasts all of the luxury HC detailing, whilst being practical and easy enough to wear for day to day. The cuffs feature a line of gold rivets, along with the gold detailing to the zip. The high neck design allows for easy wear, zipped up or down.

I get a lot of wear from half zips, so I knew this would be welcomed into my wardrobe with open arms.

This is a fairly relaxed fit. I am wearing an XS for reference.

Sizes XS – XL.
Also available in Camel.

How to style:

Both the colours and style of this 1/4 zip makes it such a versatile piece for any wardrobe. I have been wearing this to work during the week with a skirt, and then dressed down for a more casual look at the weekend with jeans.

My favourite style is teaming it with dark coloured jeans and high heeled boots, for an easy but stylish look.
