Steal my Style – The Game Fair 2025. Classic country styling with your favourite brands, plus what to wear to upcoming events!
Hello my darlings, and welcome back to the blog.
I cannot believe that The Game Fair was a couple of weeks ago now! It’s such a special event, based over 3 days in the beautiful setting of Ragley Hall. Did you manage to make it this year?
The Game Fair 2025
Wow, what an event it was. I absolutely love going to The Game Fair, it truly is a celebration of all things rural and countryside – my dream! Whatever it is that peaks your interest, there is usually something associated with it at this event. From a vast array of exhibitors, to equestrian performances, to gun dog demonstrations to falconry and have a go activities. I usually attend for 2 out of the 3 days, so that I can really see and do everything that I want at the event.
This year was no exception, attending on Saturday as a guest of the wonderful brand Fairfax & Favor, and on Sunday as press. Saturday was spent endlessly browsing the wonderful brands and all they have to offer, as well as keeping up with the action in the main arena, whilst Sunday was spent clay shooting, doing archery, and catching fish in from the lake, as well as catching up with friends!

Styling at Country Shows & Events
Fashion at these types of events is becoming ever more popular! There are often ‘best dressed’ competitions, and frantic searching the internet beforehand getting ideas on what to wear and how to style the events.
The key to dressing well at any of these country shows is combining practicality with timeless country style. Here’s a simplified guide to help you pull together the perfect look.
1. Start with footwear
You’ll be walking across many different terrains, often including fields and gravel paths, so good footwear is essential. I love opting for classic suede or leather boots on cooler days. They’re comfortable for all-day wear and instantly add that polished countryside look. If it’s dry or warm, you can opt for loafers instead. Never try breaking in new shoes on XC day- my biggest advice! Don’t forget the ground may be slippery or wet so you might want to opt for boots with good grip, or which are waterproof.
2. Layer suitably for the weather
British weather is unpredictable, and can bring sunshine, showers, and a chill in the air- all in one day. Utilising layers is the best way to ensure you’re prepared for the day. For warmer days, opt for a shirt, with a quarter zip or jumper that you can throw over your shoulders, or wear a gilet. On cooler days, a tweed blazer, wax jacket, or fleece gilet is ideal. Pair these with a shirt, jumper, or roll neck underneath so you can add or remove layers.
3. Keep it classic
You can’t go wrong with black/white/navy skinny jeans or a tweed skirt. Easy to style, flattering, practical, and can be dressed up or down as much as you like. For really hot weather, why not opt for a dress instead. Choose a classic silhouette like a-line for the perfect look!
4. Add inspired accessories
A fedora, belt, bag, and silk scarf give the outfit that classic countryside finish. Look for details like gold hardware, bit-style buckles, and neutral tones for that signature equestrian chic. Wanting to add some colour? Use the rule of 3 to keep your outfit balanced. Pick 3 accessories in that colourway and spread across your outfit, eg hat, bag and belt!
5. Make it you
The best thing you can wear is confidence, so make your style your own, and wear what you love, and what you feel happiest in. Don’t forget to bring your own twist. A pop of colour, your favourite handbag, the way you tie your scarf, these can all make the outfit feel more you!
The Game Fair Saturday – Steal My Style
Same but different … !

I am obsessed with this outfit!! It came together SO well! Look, I love a white dress, I really do, but I knew they would be dominating The Game Fair this year, so I wanted to opt for something a little bit different, whilst still keeping a similar sort of vibe.
I wore the same dress in cream to Badminton Horse Trials back in May, and I loved it. The classic shape, feminine silhouette and lightweight material make it the perfect Summer go to. This dress is from Schoffel, a brand who have made their mark in the Countryside, and are mainly known for their iconic fleece gilets.
To compliment the deep navy colour of the dress, I have brightened the whole look, by incorporating this orange/coral colour. Lightening up a darker base colour really helps to elevate the look for Summer, and this shade of orange is surprisingly easy to style, but incredibly summery, adding that sense of season to the look. I have used my hat, scarf and tassels to evenly distribute the colour through my outfit, keeping the rule of thirds and allowing for a balanced look.
My fedora is from Rydale, who have recently launched some beautiful fedoras with a full feather band around the base – these are going to be perfect for the upcoming National Hunt season if you’re a racing fan – I have linked them here for you!
No outfit is quite complete without a pair of Fairfax & Favor boots, and this pair are my first ever pair (back when white boxes were a thing, not blue! IYKYK)! I think I worked out these are about 12 years old, they were ordered the very first day they launched the navy colour way. I think you can agree they still look spectacular – really proving that this is an investment brand, that will last you for years and years!

The Game Fair Sunday – Steal My Style
Does this outfit not scream country classic to you?!

I think if you could put together a mood board for The Game Fair, the colours, textures and styles in this outfit, would all feature. I wanted to go for that really classic, elegant country style, which oozes practicality but also brimming with gorgeous tones of the countryside.
It wouldn’t be The Game Fair, without some tweed, so I used a subtle brown skirt to pull this in, contrasted by the vibrant green and navy tweed of my bag. I pulled through deep green tones in my boots and bag, and rich chocolate brown through my fedora. I finished off with a white shirt, and silk scarf, to really complete the look.
Need for tweed? I got you! My gilet is from a brand called Gunner & Hound, if you haven’t heard of them before, I highly recommend checking them out. They have thought of a really innovative and unique way to change up the ever popular fleece gilet – by adding in tweed! This works so well as a contrast panel against the fleece. This forward thinking brand have nailed this design, and these gilets are absolutely perfect for the countryside lover!
The silk scarf is new from Schoffel Country – they have a navy/light blue colour way, and this plum/green colour way. These can be tied and styled in so many different ways, making the perfect investment piece, you’ll be able to wear time and time again.
